Principal's Welcome Message 2026 Academic Year

I welcome you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Greetings.

Balob Teachers College aims at maintaining academic excellence and student life through implementing the National Program Specification Document for a three-year Diploma in Primary Teaching, and the ongoing upgrading of the curriculum to introduce the four-year Bachelor's Degree in Primary Teaching which started dialogue since 2013. To adapt to the ongoing upgrade in curriculum programs, we as the college have provided the "Curriculum Leadership" roles in implementing those changes and improving the student teachers' understanding in those areas of change. The concept of curriculum leaderships has to link to various roles and functions in the teacher education system. Likewise, the practice in teaching curriculum and its application and concepts are all about leading in learning. And Balob Teachers College is proudly championing this curriculum advancement and innovation. Apart from the curriculum upgrade, for students to live a more meaningful life, the college also has provided other support systems and facilities like the Chaplaincy office, computer laboratory, a clinic, sports field, messing facilities, spiritual growth activities, pastoral care periods, and Sunday Worship Services to cater for that purpose.

As the Principal of this great institution, I dutifuly provide effective leadership and strategic guidance to the college. By undertaking the role as the Executive Officer to the Governing Council reporting to the Governing Council, I ensure that the decisions of the Governing Council represent the best interest of the institution. Apart from that, I oversee the duties and functions of the Deputy Principals, the Director of the Academic Division, the Director of the Administrative Division, and the Director of the Student Services to ensure that the college operates efficiently in order to achieve its goals.

Balob Teachers College established a collaborative two-way partnership with the surrounding communities who collectively work together to support student learning and development, share resources, and importantly foster a nuturing environment. The College supports this understanding by sharing with its surrounding community its college facilities when there is a need to do so. The college also engages local community youths and other social groups in cleaning and looking after the college vicinity whenever a need arises. Such activies enable the community to see the college as part of the greater community as well.

I am proud to say that Balob Teachers College is ready to adapt to changes in curriculum reforms to emphasize social-emotional learning, together with the upgrading of faculty development programs to include new technologies and collaborative teaching methods, as well as to integrate research into the faculty experience, and to stay at the forefront of educational innovation and other National Government interventions in teacher education and training.

As the mottor of the college states: Balob To Serve, my message to both students, staffs and prospective students is to keep carrying this motto forward in whatever you do, to serve. Whether in your studies, your career and whatever that your hands find to do. Always find the opportunity to be of service to others. Just as the example of our Saviour Jesus Christ. To serve in humility, diligence and most importantly in reverence to God.

Wishing you all a blessed year 2026.

May God bless us all and keep us safe.
