The Diploma in Primary Teaching is organised into five academic strands, each led by an experienced Head of Strand. Together they blend subject knowledge, professional skill, and character formation to prepare teachers who serve Papua New Guinea with distinction.
The Maths & Science Strand provides students with strong foundations in numeracy, scientific inquiry, and hands-on experimentation. It prepares teachers who can confidently deliver practical and engaging lessons in primary classrooms.

Through microteaching, practicum, and leadership training, students develop the professional competencies needed for successful teaching careers.
The Language Strand develops strong communication, literacy, and language teaching skills. It equips teachers to guide students in reading, writing, and expressive language.
With a strong emphasis on English and Tok Pisin, students learn methods that support language development across diverse learning environments.
This strand emphasizes agriculture, environmental care, and community-based education. It prepares teachers to support community learning in both rural and urban settings.
